Jet Tila: The Alton Browncast 54

My guest today (I’ve wanted to have on for quite awhile now), is Cutthroat Kitchen judge, Jet Tila. I first met Jet way back when on the set of Iron Chef America and let me tell you — this guy has a pretty fascinating past … and present. Listen now by clicking the play button below.

Man, I could hang out with you two all day. I would love to talk about your histories, food, and life. Thanks for this podcast, and for sharing it with the rest of us. I am loving it. By the way, Alton, I remember the ” Steak your claim” and “this spud’s for you” episodes of Good Eats. Had no idea it was on FILM! Jet, I adore your humility. You both are pretty spectacular.

    Hi Alton,
At 58:00 you point out improper knife sharpening (belly bowing out, over steeling). I tried googling this, but nothing comes up. Can you elaborate?
    Thanks,
    Jim

It’s funny that Jet started teaching cooking classes, because watching him judge on Cutthroat Kitchen I always thought he’d be a great teacher. He’s both precise in his critiques and gentle in his demeanor, perfect combination. Always a pleasure to watch!

It would be appreciated if you could add a tag to the podcast title when there is adult language in the content. My kids love everything AB produces but I would like to avoid them hearing the guest dropping the occasional f-bomb. Thanks.
