AB Road Eats: Salt Lake City

COFFEE

La Barba Coffee Roasting: Tucked inside a restaurant, La Barba is one classy coffee bar. I had my morning cortado here, but would like to come back and try their lattes and pour overs.

The Rose Establistment: Because one coffee just isn’t enough, I decided to try a pour over from The Rose too. I really liked the area it’s in, and has great light inside.

BREAKFAST

Eva’s Bakery: A little piece of Paris in SLC — from the exterior to the menu — it was one of the most enjoyable meals I’ve had on the road. My pick? The Quiche Lorraine. Next time I’m trying their pastries.

LUNCH

Caputo’s Market: Since this was my first visit, I ordered The Caputo: Prosciutto, mortadella, salami and provolone. If I find myself in Salt Lake City again, I will return.

AFTER-SHOW

Oh Mai: Oh Mai, oh heck yeah. Some of the best banh mi and pho offerings in the country.

SWEETS

Ruby Snap: I’m going to go with Virginia on this one: ginger and dark molasses.

There’s a few newer CAFE’S that are awesome.
Sweet Lakes Buiscuits & Limeade – the name says it all. Buttery biscuits with fried chicken, house pickles & fixin’s! Also a new place called RYE for awesome bowls of all kinds of goodness. Plus their Mac & cheese with bacon and jalapeño, baked in a cast iron skillet is to die for!

Valters Osteria is by far the best fine dining that is offered in Salt Lake City. It is true authentic Italian food. Make sure you go on a night that Valter is in- he is the kindest man you’ll ever meet and he will take care of you!

    Hmm
Passionflour – vegan bakery on 900 south. I consider myself a seasoned vegan, but still find myself fascinated by the delectable goodies.
Zest- its sound like a basic favorite, but the grilled cheez is a work of art. Pesto, vegan cheez, and apple slices.

    Moochies Meatballs – awesome sandwiches
Sage’s Cafe – great vegetarian, local source eatery
Bourbon House – bar and eatery – very cool atmosphere and great food
Park Cafe – it’s a family-run restaurant and has delicious breakfast
Bruges Waffles and Frites – a Belgian-inspired waffle house with amazing frites – when people come to visit, my boyfriend and I always make it a point to bring them there

Sadly, Oh Mai, has been bought out and made into a chain. It is no longer the great restaurant it was last time you were here.
