AB Road Eats: Modesto

COFFEE

Preservation Coffee & Tea: I had not one, but two cups of a newly christened drink from Preservation called the Cacao Tipper: espresso, milk, cocoa nibs and nutmeg.

LUNCH

Food Fix Truck: Dang. They’ve got something good going on here. I had the Porkstrami and Pretzel (Cured pork, scratch-made pretzel roll, havarti cheese, beer mustard aioli).

Los Portalitos Taco Truck: Tacos al pastor (and tripe) were excellent. Some of the best bites of the day.

Divine Swine! It opened last May in Roseburg Square. They do amazing things with smoked meat and have really fun specials. Brisket Sushi? Sounds awful, but trust me it’s really good. The ribs are absolutely amazing. Dumb Dumb Chicken sandwich has quite a following too.

La huerta on standford and Prescott is the best for Mexican food. Frank the owner always greets everyone as if they are family. Skewers on 9th street has amazing Mediterranean food. You have to try the Lula kabobs. And they have belly dancers once a week! For Italian food it’s Bella Italian on floyd and coffee hands down! If you need a food Guide just let me know. I’ll show you around!! We love your shows.

The Pretzel sandwich looks really good! I am going to have to check them out. I am sad however that you missed out on Michaels pizza next to the Harley -Davidson shop while here. I think you really missed out on that one. Oh well, I guess that just means you will have to come back soon to visit us again. Thanks for a great show at the Gallo center! You and your team put on quite the show! It looks like your team had the motorhome parked right in front of the shop that my husband works at. I hope they enjoyed their stay in Modesto we loved having you here!
